Celestia developer portal
Start a Celestia integration with the post and retrieve a blob overview. This portal brings together the existing developer tools and documentation. The documentation site does not issue API keys or host a node REST API.
Quickstarts and SDK documentation
- Go transaction client quickstart: submit and retrieve blobs with a local signer.
- Rust transaction client quickstart: use the Lumina Rust client.
- Celestia SDKs and client libraries: official and community clients, with links to their source repositories.
API documentation and authentication
- Celestia Node API: interactive JSON-RPC reference and versioned OpenRPC specifications.
- Celestia REST API OpenAPI specification: the celestia-app gRPC-gateway contract in Swagger 2.0 format.
- Celestia API authentication: node tokens, provider credentials, and public documentation access.
- RPC providers and community services: choose an endpoint for your network and API.
- Celestia blobspace fees: network fees and provider charges.
- Celestia documentation MCP server: endpoint, transport, available tools, and a connectivity check.
The REST specification describes a provider's API, not endpoints on
docs.celestia.org. Configure the provider host explicitly. Error responses use
the rpcStatus shape with code, message, and details.
Test environment
Use Mocha for testnet integrations. Follow the network-specific setup and funding steps in the Go or Rust quickstart before submitting a blob. Keep the returned height, namespace, and commitment to retrieve the same blob later. The Node API playground lets you inspect and send JSON-RPC requests to your selected endpoint; requests use that endpoint's permissions and can have effects on the selected network.
Agent access and errors
Start with llms.txt, which also links the Celestia agent skill. Request
Accept: text/markdown on a documentation URL, or use its .md link. Missing
pages retain HTTP 404 and return a Markdown explanation when requested.
Requests accepting JSON receive an RFC 9457 application/problem+json error
with status, code, detail, and a resolution hint. Unknown /api/ paths
also return this JSON error.
Upstream non-JSON 4xx and 5xx errors receive the same structure for JSON clients;
existing upstream JSON error bodies are preserved. A failure blocked by edge
security before reaching the Worker can still have a different response format.
Unsupported methods on static resources retain HTTP 405; JSON errors include
METHOD_NOT_ALLOWED and an Allow header lists supported methods.
The public documentation MCP server accepts JSON-RPC POST requests at /mcp
(also /api/mcp). It provides list_pages, read_page, and search_docs.
MCP errors use JSON-RPC error objects; unsupported HTTP methods return HTTP 405
with an Allow header and a hint to use POST. It does not require an API key.
The MCP server card describes the endpoint and supported
protocol versions.
The REST specification already defines a typed rpcStatus schema for each
operation's default error response, covering HTTP statuses without an explicit
response entry. Its numeric code is a gRPC status code, not an HTTP status.
Use the provider's HTTP status alongside code, message, and details.
Rate limits and troubleshooting
Node providers control their own quotas, credentials, and response headers.
Check the selected provider's documentation before automating requests. On HTTP
429, honour Retry-After when supplied; otherwise back off rather than retrying
in a tight loop. This docs site does not advertise a fixed request quota or
remaining-request counter. Edge security rules can reject a request before it
reaches the documentation Worker.
The Worker preserves upstream RateLimit, RateLimit-Policy, and Retry-After
headers when present; it does not invent quota values for a provider or edge rule.
For a missing page, use the sitemap or documentation index. For node failures, check the endpoint's network, software version, and authentication requirements before changing your request.
